Batik Pavilion

Batik Pavilion is an architectural exploration of a pavilion using geometries of Batik Kawung, a traditional Indonesian heritage.

The pavilion is imagined to be on display in Nusantara, Indonesia’s new capital city, as an architectural beacon of the burgeoning city. Using custom scripts within Grasshopper, initial forms of the pattern are reshuffled and subtracted to create idiosyncratic voids, encouraging the interplay of natural light and subtle shadows for various activities underneath.
Typology: Pavilion

Timeline: Summer 2021 | Advanced Computation

Location: Nusantara, Indonesia

Instructor: Erin Cuevas

Collaborators: Individual Work
